Step 1: Love. Everything. No matter what. Start with the present moment. Love everything present in the present moment. Even the trash can. Isn’t it really just a cute, little, innocent trash can, doing the best it can? The toilet too, how innocent! The way it just sits there, so still and peaceful, always ready to serve. So humble! Everything is lovable and worthy of love. The rocks too! And the trees, the plants, the animals. Everything comes from the Beginning and is sacred. “Everything is sacred under the big blue dome.” Let go of discriminating between sacred and not sacred. Accept everything is sacred and worthy of love. Even french fries and kale! Loving everything is the practice of mindfulness. Instead of labeling everything, love everything. Try looking at a computer without labeling it a computer, looking at words without knowing them as words but instead just appreciating the shape of the letters without even knowing they are letters. Just be with reality to the fullest, without compulsively categorizing. Allow Reality to be gloriously as it is without shaping it with projections of good and bad, beautiful and ugly. If you must label it with something, you can label everything as sacred, or divine, or holy. Whatever is the absolute highest for you, label it is as that – and eventually even that label will disappear and the truth will shine forth that is beyond all words and description.
Step 2: Repeat Step 1. 🙂
Gloria in Excelsis Deo!
